Alabama State Requirement Details for Real Estate Continuing Education
License Renewal Date: 8/31 every even-numbered year
CE Due Date: 9/30 every even-numbered year
Hours required: Alabama Real Estate Licensees are required to take 15 continuing education hours every 24 months including 3 mandatory hours in Risk Management.

Reporting: Real estate course completions are reported to the Alabama Real Estate Commission. The state requires schools to report course completions within seven to ten days from the course completion date. Course completions will be reported within this time frame.
Expiration date of course: Course expiration dates vary by course but are generally one year after order date. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in your account.
Final Exam Instructions and Proctoring Information: The state requires that your final course exam be proctored and you achieve a score of 70% or higher to pass. Post Licensing: Completion of the 30-Hr. Post-Licensing Course for Salespersons within the first six months of licensure for active licensees and within one year for inactive licensees. The holder of an original license who has satisfactorily completed the postlicense course and whose original license has been issued, shall not be subject to the continuing education requirements for the first renewal of his or her original license.
Certificates: Immediately upon real estate course completion, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course Certificate of Completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your Certificate(s) of Completion with your renewal. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your Certificates of Completion will reflect this.
